Human NLRP1 is a sensor for double-stranded RNA

چکیده
A dsRNA detector in the immune toolkit Nod-like receptor (NLR) proteins recognize pathogen-associated molecular patterns within cells, which triggers formation of signaling complexes called inflammasomes. These then initiate pyroptosis, a highly inflammatory form cell death. Recent work has shown that rhinovirus protease can activate human NLRP1 inflammasome, but it was unclear whether this is only pathogen-derived trigger for NLRP1. Double Stranded RNA in Human Seminal Plasma
Recently, human semen was shown to contain cell-free nucleic acids, such as DNA, long single stranded RNA, and small RNAs-miRNA and piRNA. The RNAs have been suggested to have potential biological roles as communication molecules between cells and in the temporal and spatial regulation of gene expression in the male reproductive system. Here we demonstrate that human seminal plasma contains a v...
متن کاملCytosolic viral sensor RIG-I is a 5'-triphosphate-dependent translocase on double-stranded RNA.
Retinoic acid inducible-gene I (RIG-I) is a cytosolic multidomain protein that detects viral RNA and elicits an antiviral immune response. Two N-terminal caspase activation and recruitment domains (CARDs) transmit the signal, and the regulatory domain prevents signaling in the absence of viral RNA. 5'-triphosphate and double-stranded RNA (dsRNA) are two molecular patterns that enable RIG-I to d...
متن کاملA new double-stranded RNA binding protein (DRBP-120) is associated with double-stranded RNA-activated protein kinase (PKR).
Double-stranded RNA-activated protein kinase (PKR) plays an important role in interferon-induced antiviral responses, and is also involved in intracellular signaling pathways, including the apoptosis, proliferation, and transcription pathways. In this study, a new 120-kDa PKR-associated protein designated double-stranded RNA binding protein (DRBP)-120 was identified using co-immunoprecipitation...
